  • Advocating: for the fair, transparent, and accountable use of opioid settlement dollars, with meaningful participation from people directly affected by substance use and overdose.

  • Expanding access to syringe services programs: by supporting legalization, educating policymakers and communities, and helping local organizations build sustainable services across Pennsylvania.

  • Providing equitable, culturally responsive harm reduction training: designed to address racial disparities in overdose deaths, healthcare access, and public-health resources.

2027 Priorities

  • Growing the Healthcare Professionals for Harm Reduction coalition: to improve care, reduce stigma, and advance effective healthcare practices for people who use drugs.

  • Expanding drug-checking education: so communities, healthcare providers, and first responders can better understand and respond to Pennsylvania’s rapidly changing drug supply.

  • Building grassroots leadership and organizational capacity: to sustain PAHRN’s statewide work and ensure that people directly impacted have a meaningful voice in policy and funding decisions.
